As a reminder, grass and weeds that grow above 10 inches must be cut. Over the next week, City Staff will be in contact with property owners if tall grass, weeds, or other noxious vegetation as defined by Monroe Ordinance 94.01 persists. NOTICE: Special Council Session
Mayor Dan Sheets has called for a Special City Council meeting to be held on May 10, 2023 at 6:00 pm. The meeting is an open and public meeting some Council members will be attending via zoom.
The purpose of the Special Council meeting is to fill the vacant City Council seat. The person selected will serve a four-year term ending December 31, 2026.

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the City of Monroe, Benton County, State of Oregon, on the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, will be held at the Monroe Community Center, 605 Main Street, Monroe, Oregon.
The meeting will take place on June 13, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to continue deliberation on the City Budget. This is a public meeting of the Budget Committee and public comment will be heard.
A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained at Monroe City Hall, 664 Commercial Street, Monroe, Oregon, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: PLANNED POWER OUTAGE
Pacific Power will initiate a planned power outage starting at 10:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023 and may last until 6:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023. This impacts 1153 residents in Monroe and the surrounding area.
Every effort will be made by Pacific Power to minimize the length of the outage and power may be restored sooner than what is indicated above.
If someone in your home is on life-support equipment, be sure to have a back-up system and a plan of action in preparation for an outage.

Veteran Services Officer Visit
The Benton County Veteran Services Officer will be scheduling regular monthly visits to Monroe starting April 26, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Monroe Community Center.
This is an opportunity for all area veterans to get answers about VA benefits, identify potential Claims and entitlements, and assistance with completing Applications.

The City of Monroe is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving as a Councilor for the City of Monroe. This position will fill the remainder of the vacated term, expiring December 31, 2026.
