The Monroe Planning Commission will be conducting a public hearing on Monday, December 4, 2023, for the purpose of accepting any and all public comment prior to deliberating and deciding on allowing a non-conforming use of property currently zoned as Light Industrial.

 LAND USE ACTION REQUEST: Allow retail operations, on property zoned Light Commercial that is currently within the City’s Riverside District Overlay and allows mixed use (residential and commercial activities). Diversify and expand Monroe’s economic base by providing opportunities to add additional commercial space for mixed use areas for both industrial and commercial development.

Mayor Dan Sheets has called for a Special City Council meeting to be held on October 17, 2023 at 6:00 pm.  This is an open and public meeting some Council members will be attending via zoom.

The purpose of the Special Council meeting is to review a proposed Halloween event that will be held in the latter part of October on and about the property at 580 Dragon Drive.

Mayor Dan Sheets has called for a Special City Council meeting to be held on September 6, 2023 at 6:00 pm.  The meeting is an open and public meeting and will be held via zoom.

The purpose of the Special Council meeting is to amend Resolution 2023-12, ensuring the numbers match that impose the tax for the General Obligation Bond.

CC Emergency Session Notice and Agenda 9-6-23

The City of Monroe lifted its Moderate Water Emergency Alert at their August 28th Council meeting citing cooler weather and repairs to the water plant. Mayor Sheets reminds the City there is still fire danger and the City does needs to conserve water and be able to fill the water reservoir quickly in case of a fire.
