Budget Committee Recruitment

Members of the Budget Committee are vital to supporting the City’s budget process by providing citizen input that help shape the City’s finances for the coming fiscal years. Land Use Hearing – Conditional Use – January 13, 2025
The Monroe Planning Commission will be conducting a public hearing on Monday, January 13, 2025, 5:30PM, at the Monroe Community Center, 605 Main Street, Monroe, for the purpose of accepting any and all public comment prior to deliberating and deciding on a petition for a conditional use permit.
LAND USE ACTION REQUESTS: The Monroe Planning Commission will consider a Conditional Use Permit to allow non-conforming use of property, tax lot 14528DB03900, adjacent to 415 Fir Street, specifically allowing a residential unit.
• The property at 415 Fir Street and the subject property (tax lot 14528DB03900) are currently zoned Commercial (C).
• The property at 415 Fir Street has an existing residential unit and the historical use of this property has been residential prior to rezoning.
• The subject property was created from Council action to vacate a portion of 4th Street and by a lot line adjustment.
• The subject property meets GRB density (5,500 SF minimum).
BASED UPON THE FINDINGS OF FACTS, STAFF IS RECOMMENDING THE PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVE THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AS SUBMITTED.

This will be an open and recorded public hearing prior to Commission deliberation. The Planning Commission is the decision-making bodies for this type of legislative action though it can be appealed to Oregon’s Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA).

Conditional Use Application - Conn Staff Report 1-6-25Land Use Hearings
The Monroe Planning Commission will be conducting a public hearing on Monday, December 2, 2024, 6PM, at the Monroe Community Center, 605 Main Street, Monroe, for the purpose of accepting any and all public comment prior to deliberating and deciding on two land use applications for land partitions.
LAND USE ACTION REQUESTS: The Monroe Planning Commission has reviewed proposals for partitioning property located at 640 Depot Street (5 lots) and at 175 N 8th Street (2 lots).
• The property at 175 N 8th Street is residential GRA Single-Family Residential zoning and the proposed partitions meet the minimum lot size requirements
• The property at 640 Depot street is currently GRA zoning; however, this property is in consideration for rezoning to GRB Medium Density zoning. The proposed lots meet the GRB minimum lot size criteria. A conditional use permit will be included in the land use action to allow the proposed lot sizes.
BASED UPON THE FINDINGS OF FACTS, STAFF IS RECOMMENDING THE PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVE THE PARTIONS AS SUBMITTED.
