A public meeting of the City Council of the City of Monroe will be held on June 24, 2024, 6:00 PM, at the Monroe Community Center located at 605 N Main Street, Monroe, Oregon. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024 as approved by the City of Monroe Budget Committee and proposed use of State Shared Revenues. A summary of the budget is presented below. A copy of the budget may be inspected or obtained at Monroe City Hall, 664 Commercial St., Monroe, OR, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This budget is for an biennial budget period. This budget was prepared on a basis of accounting that is the same as the preceding year.

Enhanced Waste Service Starts June 1st
The Monroe City Council passed adding weekly recycling and yard debris services to the existing waste pickup during their Special Council Session on April 10, 2024. Recycling and Yard Debris carts will be delivered in May and the new services will start in June More information can be found here about the new services.
New Speed Limit
At the request of residents, Monroe City Council petitioned the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to reduce the speed in Monroe’s downtown core from 30 MPH to 25 MPH. On April 18, 2024, ODOT granted the request and will schedule the replacement of the existing 30 MPH signs as soon as possible.
