Changes in Trash Service During Week of Solar Eclipse
Due to expected heavy traffic for the Eclipse Monday, August 21st, trash collection trucks will not be operating on Monday, August 21st, and Republic offices will be closed. All services will be pushed one day back; this includes trash, recycle, food scraps and yard debris services. This means, if your service day is usually on Monday, this week it will be on Tuesday, if your service is normally on Tuesday, it will be on Wednesday and so on for the entire week, with Friday customers being serviced on Saturday. The City of Monroe wants to remind its citizens that keeping grass and weeds in check on their property or the right-of-way adjacent to their property not only keeps the City a pleasant and safe place to live, but is also the law. Read more about Ordinance 16-01 for details.
