From: The City of Monroe – Benton County
Re: Boil order has been lifted
The City of Monroe has received confirmation from an independent laboratory that the City’s drinking water is safe for consumption. Water samples were taken from the City’s distribution system and the area effected was well represented in the sampling. All of our samples came back negative for the presence of bacteria in the distribution system.
The results have been discussed with the Oregon Health Authority and approval has been given to lift the precautionary boil order. The public is free to consume and use the drinking water for all purposes without any concerns over personal or public health.
We apologize for the inconvenience, these safe guards are put in place to give adequate time to ensure that the drinking water system is safe and public health is protected.
