Application for Advisory Committees 

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Advises the Council in all matters pertaining to economic development such as developing, maintaining, and implementing the City’s economic development plan; Foster and encourage responsible economic development activities that result in job creation, business retention and expansion, increased tax base and an improved quality of life for the citizens of Monroe.

Schedule: The Economic Development Committee meets on the third Thursday of the month.

Membership: The Economic Development Committee is open to residents and non-residents.

Leadership: Chair is a Monroe City Councilor or Mayor.

PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Advises the Council concerning the development, planning, and maintaining the various parks, open space, trees, recreational and event facilities operated and maintained by the City of Monroe.

Schedule: At a minimum, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee meets quarterly on the first Thursday of the month.

Membership: The Parks Advisory Committee is open to residents and non-residents.

Leadership: Chair is a Monroe City Councilor or Mayor.

PUBLIC WORKS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Advises the Council concerning facility maintenance and infrastructure including municipal water, sewer, stormwater, and streets within the City.

Schedule: At a minimum, the Public Works Advisory Committee meets quarterly on the second Thursday of the month.

Membership: The Public Works Advisory Committee is open to residents and non-residents.

Leadership: Chair is a Monroe City Councilor or Mayor.
