Would you like to play a leading role in the financial plans for the City of Monroe?
The City of Monroe is seeking one volunteer to serve on the City Budget Committee.
Typically, there are 3-4 meetings a year with most of them in May. You must be a registered voter within the City of Monroe. Please submit a letter of interest to the Monroe City Council. The council hopes to fill the POSITION on January 22, 2018 so it would be nice if you could attend the council meeting at 6PM. This is for a 3-year term.
The Budget Committee is made up of the 7-member council and 7 electors within the City. The budget officer (typically the City Administrator) will create and present a draft budget to the committee. The Budget Committee will conduct a public hearing and review, edit, change and approve with recommendations to the city council. Then the City Council will conduct a public hearing, review the budget and adopt a budget prior to June 30, 2018.
