Beautification Committee Creates Four Main Street Program Advisory Groups
The Monroe Beautification Committee (MBC) is excited to announce that is has created four Advisory Groups to facilitate greater community involvement and further take on Oregon Main Street (OMS) Program activities. The four Advisory Groups will be based on the OMS’s comprehensive approach to downtown revitalization – Design, Promotion, Economic Vitality, and Organization and serve as specialized groups that advise, guide, and collaborate with the Beautification Committee Board.
Membership of the Beautification Committee Advisory Groups is open to the public – there are no qualification requirements. While joining an Advisory Group is open to all, participants are required to agree to certain responsibilities and commitments prior to joining an Advisory Group. Please review the Member Handbook below for full details on member expectations.
Why now? In 2017, the Monroe Beautification Committee engaged the Oregon Main Street Program to become an “Exploring Downtown-Level” organization. This led to intense community visioning and strategic organizational planning. Since then the role and function of the committee has begun to shift to encompass broader Oregon Main Street Program work. (For additional announcement details see below in the ‘Press Release’)
